CODE OF CONDUCT
Player Code of Conduct
Players will have the responsibility to:
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, administrators and officials at every game.
- Treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
- Do their best to remember that youth sports are supposed to be FUN and that winning and losing are part of everyone’s experience.
- Always practice and play to the best of your ability, and encourage others to do the same.
- Respect the opposition, be generous when you win, be gracious when you lose, conduct yourself with honour and dignity.
- Express their concerns through the proper channels (i.e., team captain, Coach, Assistant Coach, etc.) in a dignified manner.
Parents Code of Conduct
Parents will have the responsibility to:
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, administrators and officials at every game.
- Treat other parents, players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
- Do their best to remember that the game is for the youth – not the adults, and to do their best to make sure that youth sports are a FUN and POSITIVE experience.
- Not berate the officials.
- Respect the opposition, be generous when you win, be gracious when you lose, conduct yourself with honour and dignity.
- Not undermine the coaches’ instructions or directions.
- Express their concerns through the proper channels (i.e., Manager, Coach, Assistant Coach, etc.) in a dignified manner.
Coaches Code of Conduct
Coaches will have the responsibility to:
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, administrators and officials at every game.
- Treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
- Do their best to remember that youth sports are supposed to be FUN and that winning and losing are part of everyone’s experience.
- Directs comments or criticism at the performance rather than the athlete.
- Consider the athlete’s future health and well-being as foremost when making decisions regarding an injured athlete’s ability to continue playing or training.
- Regularly seek ways of increasing professional development.
- Respect the opposition, be generous when you win, be gracious when you lose, conduct yourself with honour and dignity.
- Actively encourage athletes to uphold the rules of the game and the spirit of such rules.
- Refrain from the use of profane, insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language in the conduct of your duties.
- Express their concerns through the proper channels (i.e., team Manager, Board, etc.) in a dignified manner.
- Endeavour to ensure that every player plays meaningful minutes in every game.
